My life in Copenhagen was changed on March 14th when Holly brought her bike into Copenhagen for the first time. Long story short, she got the seat adjusted so it was shorter, but she still felt nervous riding it. I volunteered to ride her bike and let her take Samer’s, whose seat it a little bit less intimidating. Now, up until the moment these words came out of my mouth I had been too afraid to bike in KBH. But Holly and I went out and by the end we had switched bikes, couldn’t stop smiling, and I was convinced that my bike was now going to be riding the train with me into the city.

This was one of the best decision I have ever made. This was my bikes first ride into the city, and I was so nervous for it that I sat next to it the whole way. But honestly, people are not kidding when they say bike is the best way to explore Copenhagen. The city is not very large, and certainly can be walked, but with all the bike lanes and the fact that everything is flat, you can cruise on a bike. Now when we need a break, we head out on a bike ride. This was a picture from a bike ride Samer and I took to Frederiksberg park.

Holly and I adventured to Our Savior’s Church, the architecture library at the Royal Academy for the Arts, stopped by the opera house, and took our bikes on the water taxi back across the water.
Biking in rush hour is still not my favorite (you feel rushed, just like you would driving) but any other time of the day I am more than ready for a bike ride. I still wobble (but less) and I’m practicing doing a bunch of cool Danish moves on my bike…though I still have a long way to go!
