Our two week travel break has officially arrived. My second week is planned; I will be skiing Val Thorens in the French Alps. However, my first week (the one I am in now) has remained largely open. I have been feeling the call of the wild. I want nothing more than to spend my first week camping outside in the freezing cold, working all day, and enjoying the northern lights and a campfire at night. However, rustic vacations are not cheap.

My first choice was to drive my own sleddog team for a week through the north of Norway, camping out.

My second choice was to spend a week riding with Icelandic horses in, you guessed it, Iceland.
All of these pictures could have been me. However, these trips cost an arm and a leg and since I’m already going to the also costly Alps, I will have to save these adventures for another day. So one day, these pictures will be me.
It is leaving me a little lost, though. I have reached the point where I need to be on my own somewhere isolated. I really don’t know how else to describe it other than the call of the wild. Well, at any rate, we will see where this week takes me. I might just find the cheapest plane ticket I can to the most remote place that I can and then see what happens.
