GREETINGS FROM SUNNY AND WARM GREECE! Today was our full day in Athens, and I am just real thankful still that we are really only spending a little under two days here before shipping off to Corfu. Athens is a really interesting city with a ton of history, visiting the Acropolis blew my mind, and the weather has been just lovely. However, the stereotype about Greek men is pretty close to accurate. Dudes are horny. I mean, I’ve been called and shouted everything in the book, and you think it might be flattering, but at this point it is just so generic it’s insulting and mostly annoying. If you move, you’re getting a cat call. Also, of course none of the guys that do this are attractive (hence the annoyance). Most of it I can just ignore at this point, but today I had a really good one, “Hello, would you like a Greek lover?” Right to the point. Not to mention the never ending parade of people asking for money, whether they are trying to sell you something, play you a song, or are just plain old asking. I mean, you cannot sit outside without getting harassed by someone every 3 minutes. Makes dinner just that much less relaxing, especially because you generally are not speaking the language. And then of course the riots, the nasty parts of town…

I don’t mean to sound like I am complaining, the foods great, I’ve met quite a few great people, but overall I am just not in love with Athens. However, I’m not giving up on Greece yet. I cannot wait to get to Corfu tomorrow and enjoy the beach and adventuring.

Today we did a big loop of touristy stuff, which in Athens is “ancient shit” (stuff). Biggest deal was of course the Acropolis (Ακρόπολη).
